We need your old tires to enable us to apply a layer of rubber to our new track surface in preparation for drag racing! Any unneeded or worn out 'racing' compound tyres will be gratefully accepted, including drag slicks, speedway tyres etc. Contact Bob email or 0274 494 995.

1st December 2008
Update on future of MMP
Masterton Motorplex has confirmed three race dates for this season:
November 22nd & 23rd (already run)
December 27th & 28th
January 31st & February 1st
It also is looking very likely that we will have our race meet on March 14th & 15th 2009 even though the airline is getting under way with commercial flights on February 16th. There will be extra safety restrictions but MMP is confident that we can work through these. If this meeting goes ahead successfully then there is every reason to believe that we will be running our usual 4 meetings next season.
Possible new track
MMP have had discussions with the council and other leasee’s of land down at the Aerodrome about the possibility of some land to build a purpose built track. Things are looking very positive for an agreement to be made. We also currently have resource consent as we are existing users at the Aerodrome so by staying on Aerodrome land we remain under the current recreational resource consent that the council has in place.
Quotes for the work are being sought and a feasibility study will be carried out not too far into the future as it would be good to have a track built for the 2010 season.
If anyone has a million dollars or knows anyone who would be keen to sponsor a portion of the money please contact Bob Wilton on 06 377 3803.
