What a way to start the season at Masterton Motorplex!
Dave Hadley Tyres SMOKEFEST Burnout Competition - September 2009
Ok, so there were no side-by-side drag races, or any track action for that matter, but the burnout pad sure was given a darn good thrashing, and although the weather left a lot to be desired the crowds came along and toughed it out to see some of the most dedicated drivers giving their machines absolute death, all in an attempt to take top honours in the prestigious Dave Hadley tyres SMIKEFEST Burnout Competition. And who wouldn't want THAT title? Congratulations to all competitors - see you all next time!

Masterton Motorplex continued to provide a place to race for lower North Island drag racers and fans, but sadly, this is likely to be the last season of racing at this venue.
